This started out as Winning Shot and became Bunkie's Bug Bash and Harry's Wild Ball Mania. Both were way cool!

There are lots of photos, not in proper order. I'll do that some day.

This is a 4-5 month labour of love by Robert Barake and Michael Hanley.  We built two great playing playfields that are drop-in replacements for Winning shot.  Bunkie's Bug Bash was a redemption piece, with 5 hotwheel beetles.  Kids love hitting the cars and watching them move.  Simple kinetics.  Harry's Wild Ball Mania was a more traditional pinball type game.  the spinning disc a la Fireball, is what makes this game wild.  "Holy Cripes, what the hell is that"  as Harry himself might say.

We don't know if our games ever were produced.  HIP Coin went out of business and was purchased by Starburst.  Unis severed the relationship.  I believe they released another game called "Race Days" in China.  It was an amagamation of these two concepts.  Not sure how you would fuse the two together.  Never saw more than a thumbnail.  If you have any info, please let me know.

Start with a standard "Winning Shot":

this one has wms flipper bats on it from the factory....

Where did they get those?

The guts of a winning shot.

Here's the playfield.  Who in their right mind would put a glass soccer ball on a pinball playfield.  Pinballs are steel balls.  Steel and glass dont mix too well.

more shots of winning shot.

This is a second generation WS.  The originals had a Green background to the top headder, not blue.

The wiring of the playfield.

Look at the size of the ball lifter (bottom right corner).  HUGE!!!!

This box controlls the leds around the ramp.

A close-up of the "pressure organ"  (thumper bumper)

The ramp looks good.

The glorious ball lifter again...

The MPU.

Sound board:

Bunkie's bug bash later proto.  You can tell because the cars are installed and the stand up switches at the end of each lane.  Working on the U-turn lanes.

As i said, working on the u-turns.

On the left is the first prototype of "Harry's Wild Ball Mania".  The right is proto #2.

Giving it a go.  I like the Yellow flipper bats...

Look at those cool bugs.

Robert working on the spinning disc.

The spinning disc works!

Early proto.   :-)

Bevelling the kickout holes.

We had a "Krynski Line" down the center of the playfield.

You can see the Pencil line better in this shot.  And yes, those are tuna cans in the corners.  hey, they worked!

Adjustments...

If you look closely, you will see the chrystal soccer ball is broken off.  We told them...

I'm very proud of this shot.  The ramps are in, the targets wired up to work, lamps under the ramps.  game scores and play sounds.

The end.  For now.
